Just a short update today: Hot on the heels of last week's
Founder Showcase win, BreezyPrint won 'Best Demo' on Tuesday night at
MobiCASE. Sponsored by Ericsson, Motorola, Sprint, Nokia and Clearwire, MobiCASE is an international showcase of mobile applications, products and services, accompanied by an academic conference.
About 20 companies competed for the prize (a one-year subscription to Rhomobile's
RhoHub service), and we're very happy to be named the winner. Keep checking back here; we'll have more good news to report soon.
Last Thursday night I had the honor of pitching BreezyPrint at the fifth Founder Showcase, an quarterly event that gathers 300 investors, tech CEOs and early stage companies in Silicon Valley to network, hear keynote talks by geniuses like Elon Musk and Mike Maples, and to vote on the most promising startup out of the ten presenting.
Voting is done in two rounds -- five companies present, the audience votes on their favorite, five more present and the audience votes again, and then the top vote getter from each round answers questions from a panel of five judges, who vote on which of the two finalists will take home the grand prize.
When it came time to vote, the audience response was overwhelming. BreezyPrint reeled in over 7 times the number of votes as the runner up, and four out of five judges voted for us in the final panel.
It was a fantastic night, we won an excellent prize package and a bit of recognition, and made a number of new friends. Best of all, the exposure will help us in fundraising and hiring efforts, so we will be able to continue to improve the BreezyPrint experience for all of you.
For those interested, a video of the pitch follows below. We wouldn't have won if it weren't for the trust and support of our users and friends, so to everyone: thanks!

Late last night, BreezyPrint signed up our 5,000th user, just over a month and a half after we hit
2,000 users on August 31.
BreezyPrint launched on April 5 -- so putting it another way, passing the 5,000 user mark means we have grown more in the past month and a half than in the previous five months combined.
We're excited about the growth, and can't wait to share all the exciting new features and releases planned for the next few months -- the iOS client is coming, we've got a Windows Phone 7 client in development, and we're building a worldwide partner network that will let you print from your phone anywhere in the world.
Once again, to all of our current users and to those who have yet to join: thanks!
